Brandon Kinzer Cashes in at Green Valley for First Win of 2010; Readies for Boyd's and 201

(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) The Kinzer Motorsports team invaded the state of Alabama on July 30-31 and walked away with their first win of the 2010 racing season! Brandon Kinzer reached victory lane on Friday night at the Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama. After timing in second fastest in his group during Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) qualifying, Brandon rolled off third on the grid in the 40-lap main event. BK appeared headed towards a second place finish behind Ronnie Johnson, but a broken axle late in the race retired Johnson and handed the $3,000 victory to Kinzer.

ROCK GAULT MEMORIAL RACE SET TO ROLL 8/14/2010 AT CHEROKEE SPEEDWAY

Gaffney S.C - The Southern AllStars East Super Late Models are heading back into Gaffney S.C to take 40 laps around Cherokee Speedway for the Inaugural Rock Gault Memorial. The points are as close as ever this far into a season, and look for drivers to start taking chances and separate themselves from the rest of the competition. Casey Roberts and Johnny Pursley sit tied atop the East points standing with Mike Gault in 3rd. Only 56 points separate 3rd- 7th which also includes Zack Mitchell, Travis Leake, Ross Bailes, and Jim Rasey whom are all chasing the 2010 Cruise of Champions ROY award. They are separated by a mere 48 points.

Rock Gault, the well respected and loved owner/promoter of years past at Cherokee Speedway left his mark on the sport and the area racers. “He made Cherokee Speedway the home to himself and his family, I am honored to be a part of this great event” said track promoter Lennie Buff.

Madden Claims Southern All Stars' First Event At Wythe

Rural Retreat, VA (7-2-10) Fast qualifier Chris Madden of Grey Court, SC dominated the first ever Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series event at Wythe Raceway on Friday night, earning $5,000 for his victory in the Firecracker 50.

Madden built comfortable leads throughout at the half-mile oval en route to his 39th career series victory. Third starting Chris Wall of Holden, LA was the runner-up followed by Brandon Kinzer of Allen, KY who survived a lap-32 tangle with outside front-row starter Austin Dillon of Welcome, NC, who looped his car after peeling a right rear tire from his number 3 mount.

Shannon Buckingham of Morristown, TN, who started tenth, was fourth and fellow fifth-row starter Kenny Compton Jr. of Bland, VA rounded out the top five.

Chris Fergusson of Mount Holly, NC started fourth and was running second when an oil line fire forced him out on lap 46; he wasn’t injured.

Madden’s Bloomquist Race Cars number 44 is sponsored by Century Plastics and Hamrick’s of Gaffney SC. Madden’s last SAS victory came in the 2009 finale at Cleveland Speedway in Tennessee.

Southern Nationals Series Moves Rome Speedway Date to Sunday, July 18

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) In a joint decision made recently by officials from both the Southern Nationals Series and the Rome Speedway, it has been decided to move the series date at the legendary Rome, Georgia facility. Instead of hosting the popular Southern Nationals Series on Monday, July 19, Rome will now open their gates for the series on Sunday, July 18. The sixth stop on the 2010 Southern Nationals Series tour will now pay $5,300 to win instead of the previously announced $3,500 payday.

SAS EAST 12th Annual $7,000 to win Grassy Smith Memorial Race set for Friday Night June 25th Cherokee Speedway

Gaffney, South Carolina - The ‘Stars and Cars’ of the Southern All Stars EAST Series will visit Cherokee Speedway for the running of the 12th Annual Grassy Smith Memorial. Set for Friday June 25th, this one day show will feature a $7,000 to win 50 lap shootout on the 3/8th mile. This event has drawn the attention of the nation’s top drivers since the inaugural running of the Grassy Smith Memorial Race in 1999. This one will be no different - especially since the EAST series will also run the 4th Annual $5,500 Robert Pursley & Friends Memorial Race the following Saturday Night at I-77 Speedway in Chester, SC. Many drivers are planning to run both events, and with the Lucas Oil Series off that weekend it should be a who's who of racing.

The late Clarence "Grassy" Smith is known throughout the racing world for his contributions to motorsports. Grassy Smith stamped his name in the Southern racing scene building race engines for Nascar pioneers Holman Moody with their racing stable boasted of drivers such as Ned Jarrett, David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, Fireball Roberts and Curtis Turner. This weekend was definite addition to the teams confidence and momentum that they needed, and a week prior to Eldora's prestigious "Dream". Chris Ferguson Motorsports carted the #22 Starrette Trucking machine to the Cherokee Speedway for the $3,000 to Win Southern Allstars East Series event. Chris Madden took the pole and "Fergy Time" sat in a close 2nd fast on the stop watch. "It seems like everywhere we go, me and Chris (Madden) are always on the front row together" Said a laughing Ferguson.

Ferguson Rebounds for Top 5 after Misfortune at 311 Clash

Mt. Holly, North Carolina – Chris Ferguson and Starrette Trucking and Specialized Hauling Race team made the short trip to nearby Madison, N.C’s 311 Fast Track for the season opener. The Carolina Clash Racing Series sanctioned the event that paid $4,000 to win and drew a field of 35 cars. Ferguson qualified 4th overall despite having difficulty with the track’s rough surface. 5 time Carolina Clash Champion Ricky Weeks took the pole award with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver qualifying 2nd, and Defending Carolina Clash Champion Jeff Smith taking 3rd.
