Brent Dixon Scores Victory at Lavonia Speedway

On Friday, May 30, 2008, Brent Dixon and the number 1 team scored their second victory of the 2008 season by picking up the $2,000-to-win feature event at the Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA.  Brent qualified in the second position with a time of 15.74 seconds, which earned him the second starting position of the night's 30-lap feature event.

Dixon quickly captured the lead position at the drop of the green flag pushing Frankie Beard in the number F21 car to the second position.  As the laps wore on, Dixon hit a rut in the track and pushed him up the track allowing Travis Pennington in the 01 machine to make a pass for the lead.  Dixon was able to re-capture the lead after Pennington suffered problems with his 01 machine.  Dixon went unchallenged for the remainder of the event and picked up the $2,000 payday.

Brent Dixon and the number 1 team will compete tonight (Saturday, May 31, 2008) at Hartwell Speedway in Hartwell, GA for the Carolina Clash event paying $4,000-to-win.

Dixon Picks up Win at Toccoa Speedway on April 19

Brent Dixon and the number 1 team competed at Toccoa Speedway on Saturday, April 19, 2008.  After having problems with the car at the OSAS event at Toccoa Speedway on April 12, 2008, Brent decided to test out the car this past weekend.  Brent began the night by setting fast time in his Swiftco Motorsports number 1 machine with a time of 12.33 seconds giving him the pole position for the night's super late model feature event paying $1,000 to win.

After the green flag dropped for the feature event, Dixon fell to second in turn one and two as Bruce Taylor (8) was able to gain the top position on the track.  On lap 3 of the 30-lap feature event, Dixon took the lead from Taylor and dominated the remainder of the event at Toccoa Speedway to pick up the win in the super late model division.

Brent Dixon Dixon Suffers Injury at Lavonia Speedway

Brent Dixon showed up at Lavonia Speedway on Saturday, March 22, 2008 for the $5,000-to-win O'Reilly Southern All Stars event; however, while unloading the car Brent suffered from a pulled muscle in his ribs.  Dixon, who had recently "unofficially" set a new track record during a practice session was geared up to compete and was looking forward to a good run at Lavonia Speedway, but after suffering the injury he decided that it was not a good idea to compete in Saturday's event.

Brent is currently resting and hopes to get back into his number 1 machine soon and continue onward with the 2008 season.  The next scheduled event for the 2008 season for Brent and the number 1 team is the Carolina Clash event on March 29, 2008 at Gordon Park Speedway in Grovetown, GA.  Brent says that he still plans to compete in the March 29, 2008 event, but will make the determination as the event gets closer.
