August 5, 2008 - Dillon Wood Racing Readies for Carolina-Georgia O'Reilly Southern All Stars Double Header Weekend

New Smyrna Beach, Florida – Dillon Wood and his DWR Team are currently hard at work preparing their Rocket Chassis for this weekend's events on the O'Reilly Southern All Stars and O'Reilly Southern All Stars East Schedules. Friday night the teen dirt late model pilot will travel to Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina for a $3000 to win OSAS-East event. Then on Saturday the team will travel over to Toccoa Speedway in Toccoa, Georgia for the $5000 to win O'Reilly Southern All Star Series event at the oldest dirt track in Georgia.

Dillon is fresh off a pair of top six finishes on the O'Reilly Southern Nationals Tour. Dillon just missed his biggest career payday with his second place finish in the Southern Nationals event at Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia. "Man we were so close to winning that race. I was trying to be careful and patient getting around the lapped cars and let Chris (Madden) catch up to us. I just waited too long to get aggressive. When the time came that I made my move the lapped car came down in front of me and Chris got by us both up high. We would have liked to have gotten the win but it was still good to run that well and get a good finish." Wood commented.

Dillon also had a stellar run in the Southern Nationals event at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia. Wood started off the event by qualifying fourth quick out of the thirty-seven drivers on hand for the $5300 to win affair. Dillon went on to finish sixth in the caution plagued event. "We missed some wrecks and had a decent finish. We should have finished better but all-in-all we had a good night. I love racing at Screven it's where I won my first super late model race. We missed it just a little on tires for the feature so I don't think we could have gotten to Rambo (winner Dennis Franklin) but I believe we had better than a sixth place car." said Wood.

"We are excited about this weekend. The last time we were at Toccoa we qualified really well and we had a good car. We got hung up behind a slower car and we lost a few spots but I believe we had a car that was capable of winning. And we have been pretty good at Cherokee and we have family and sponsors from that area so it will be good for us to be able to race in front of them again. My dad (Todd) and I have really been working hard the last couple of weeks to get the cars back into top shape. So I am ready to get back to the racetrack and make some laps and go racing." Wood said.

Wood's Rocket is powered by a Clements Racing Engine. Dillon and the Dillon Wood Racing Team would like to thank their sponsors for the continued support. June 27, 2008 - Dillon Wood Racing Swings Back into Action at Golden Isles UDLMCS Event

New Smyrna Beach, Florida – Teen dirt late model pilot Dillon Wood of New Smyrna Beach, Florida will return to racing action this weekend at Golden Isles Speedway in Waynesville, GA. Wood will join fellow Floridian OSAS points chasers Ivedent Lloyd and Jason Fitzgerald for the $3000 to win United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series event set for Saturday night, June 28th .

Wood will return to the track after taking some time off. The rested and rejuvenated youngster is ready to buckle in and go racing after the break for some family vacation time. "We took a trip up to the mountains for a little vacation. I had planned on being back for the Lucas Oil events over in the Carolinas but we ended up staying a few days longer than expected. But we are ready to get back at it this week." Wood said.

The United Dirt Late Model Challenge mandates either an all cast iron or GM Crate engine for their events. Wood picked up a fresh Koury power plant from friend and fellow racer Shane Williams in order to participate in this weekend's event. Wood will continue to utilize his Rocket Chassis shod with Hoosier Racing Tires. Wood will also carry the same design and colors as the super late model that he regularly campaigns on the O'Reilly Southern All Stars Racing Series Tour.

"This is a chance for us to race locally and build up a little money to travel on when the Southern All Stars hit the road again in mid-July. And Golden Isles is really one of my favorite race tracks to race on. Our car has been pretty good there the few times we have been there this year. It will be a little bit different set-up because of the heavier front weight but my dad and Alex will have us dialed in no time I am sure." Wood commented.

June 1, 2008 - Dillon Wood Racing Headed for the 14th Annual $100,000 Dream at Eldora Speedway

New Smyrna Beach, Florida – Teen sensation Dillon Wood of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and his number 26 racing team will make the trek north to the hallowed half mile high banks of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio for the 14th Annual $100,000 to win Dream this week. Wood and team will leave out on Tuesday for the some fifteen hour trip up to the "House That Earl Built". The storied half mile, now owned by NASCAR's Tony Stewart, annually draws well over one hundred cars to each of its premier dirt late model events.

Wood figures he has a good shot at making the event and being competitive. "We definitely have equipment that is as good as anyone else's. I have never been to Eldora but I seem to do well on the bigger high-speed tracks. It will definitely be a challenge because I know that the best in the business will be there. But I also know that we can run with those guys. We have already shown that this year. We just need to get a good draw and be prepared and lay down a good lap on Friday night. If we can do that I fell like we can race our way in to the show." Wood commented.

In an effort to get as prepared as possible Wood has taken the last few weekends off to ready his new Rocket Chassis. "We took out the new car and we have tested it a few times and made it pretty good. Then we took it over to Screven Motor Speedway and made some fine adjustments and ended up winning that night. So since then we have been here at the shop working on it every day getting ready to go to Eldora. I know we are ready to go. I am excited about going and giving it my best shot." said the seventeen year old high school junior.

Wood will pilot a Rocket Chassis machine that is powered by a Clements Racing Engine. Dillon and the Dillon Wood Racing Team would like to thank their sponsors for the continued support.
